Angie was at her home in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina struck.
Her home did sustained a lot of damage but she made it through the storm. She is now in the long process of rebuilding her home and life in New Orleans.

Angelamia BacheminAngelamia Bachemin pioneered the style of Jazz Hip-Hop, blending the two most uniquely African-American developments in music into one phat sound. It was a natural outgrowth for Bachemin, whose upbringing was split between New Orleans and the urban music of inner-city Oakland, California. She began developing the synthesis of sounds while working on her Master's Degree at Wesleyan University in 1997, where her first jazz hip-hop class rocked the Crowell Concert Hall standing-room-only crowd with the Renaissance Soul Revival. The tradition continued at Berklee College, where Bachemin's classes and performances were so popular that listeners were often found crowding outside the doors.
